Hybrid Lighting 300 mm

This lighting unit combines high-angle, coaxial and lateral illumination. Each direction can be adjusted to suit the material, surface and feature that needs to be detected.

Tell us about the target, the feature you need to see and your current imaging conditions. We can review the lighting, camera and lens configuration together.

HOW IT WORKS

Three directions in one lighting block

High-angle illumination lights a broad area, coaxial illumination follows the camera axis, and lateral illumination emphasises edges and small height differences.

Comparing and combining these directions helps separate the feature of interest from glare, texture or background patterns.

LIGHTING MODES

Different directions reveal different features

Surface condition, height and edges reflect light differently. Adjusting each channel changes the contrast of the feature being inspected.

01

High-angle illumination

Provides broad light from an upper angle and supports an overall view of the surface.

02

Coaxial illumination

Lights along the camera axis so flat areas appear bright while tilted or uneven areas appear darker.

03

Lateral illumination

Uses a low angle to emphasise reflections from scratches, chips, edges and small height differences.

VISIBILITY

Keep the feature you need and suppress distracting texture

By adjusting the balance between lighting directions, imaging can be tuned either to reduce hairline texture or to emphasise it. The aim is a repeatable image in which the inspection feature remains visible.

APPLICATIONS

Typical inspection targets

01

Reflective metals and mirror surfaces

Explore conditions for scratches that are easily hidden by strong directional reflections.

02

Fine scratches and abrasions

Designed with high-resolution line-camera imaging in mind.

03

Targets with significant depth

High output supports a smaller lens aperture and a greater depth of field where appropriate.
